Reinsdorf Expects Gordon to Remain a Bull
September 18th, 2008 by Andrew WamboldtBulls fans were giving some closure on the Ben Gordon scenario yesterday, as Jerry Reinsdorf basically came out and stated that Ben Gordon will be a Chicago Bull next season.
“I expect Ben Gordon to be playing for the Bulls this year, one way or another,” he said. “I don’t know if it will be resolved before training camp, but I do expect him to be playing for the Bulls.”
It seems that all paths are exhausted, and barring a last minute surprise, the Bulls are going to move on with Gordon. Throughout the process, the Bulls never seemed too interested in trading Gordon as they lackadaisically moved through trade talks with the Miami Heat.
It seems as if the Bulls have made their final offer. The “one way or another” from Reinsdorf can be translated as Ben Gordon will be back, either on our long-term offer or on the qualifying offer. Although it is still possible for the Bulls to slightly increase the long-term offer to Gordon at the last minute as an incentive to sign on long-term.
So there you go, there is a 99% chance that Ben Gordon will remain a Chicago Bull.
