Bulls Waive Brown and Washington

October 20, 2008 – The Chicago Bulls announced today the team has waived forward Elton Brown and guard Darius Washington.
Brown (6-9, 250) appeared in two preseason games with the Bulls and averaged 2.5 ppg and 2.0 rpg in 8.0 mpg. He participated in the 2008 Vegas Summer League with the Denver Nuggets, averaging a double-double, posting 13.4 ppg and 10.0 rpg in five appearances. Brown, who played in 120 games in four seasons at the University of Virginia, spent the 2007.08 season playing for both the Colorado 14ers (D-League) and for Hapoel Holon (Israel-Premier League).
Washington (6-2, 195) saw action in two preseason games and averaged 8.0 ppg in 13.0 mpg. He was on the Milwaukee Bucks’ 2008 summer league roster and tallied averages of 9.6 ppg, 3.4 apg, 3.0 rpg in five appearances. Washington, who played two seasons at the University of Memphis, saw action in 18 games with the San Antonio Spurs during the 2007.08 season, averaging 2.9 ppg and 1.1 rpg.
Chicago’s preseason roster now stands at 15.
