Rose named Bulls CDW/Blackberry Player of the Month

Derrick Rose has been named the Bulls CDW/Blackberry Player of the Month for November. The Bulls rookie point guard is this season’s first award winner, which will be presented each month throughout the 2008-09 campaign.
Rose (6-3, 190 pounds) started all 15 games during the month of November (the Bulls went 7-8) and posted averages of 18.9 ppg, 6.1 apg and 4.1 rpg in 39.0 mpg. He shot .496 from the field, .368 from downtown and .854 from the line.
Rose led the team in scoring five times, as he posted seven games with 20-plus points, and led the Bulls in assists on 12 occasions. He also became the first Bulls rookie since Michael Jordan (1984-85) to score 10 or more points in his first 10 NBA games.
He is currently first on the Bulls with 6.0 apg (13th in the NBA) and 38.0 mpg (10th) and is second on the team with 18.4 ppg (29th) and a shooting percentage of .487 from the field. He also is second on the team with two double-doubles. In recognition of his play for the month of November, Rose was also named the Eastern Conference T-Mobile Rookie of the Month by the NBA.

# On Nov. 1, in Chicago’s 98-86 win over Memphis, Rose scored a season-high 26 points (11-20 FG) and added six rebounds and three assists in 37:09 minutes of action.
# In Chicago’s 113-108 defeat against Atlanta on Nov. 11, Rose posted the first double-double of his career, as he tied his season high with 26 points (9-17 FG), and added a team-high10 boards and six assists in 42:29 of play.
# On Nov. 24, a 101-100 Chicago win at Utah, Rose recorded team highs with 25 points (10-18 FG and nine assists in 34:39 of play.
# At Philadelphia on Nov. 30, a 103-92 Bulls win, Rose notched his second double-double of the year with 18 points (8-15 FG) and a game-high10 assists; he also grabbed five boards in a team-high 40:31.
