Derrick Rose Needs Some Help
December 30th, 2008 by Andrew WamboldtSinger and songwriter, Ryan Parker has released his latest sports parody Derrick Rose Needs Some Help. The song is a parody of Every Rose Has Its Thorn. In the song, Parker chronicles the hardships that the Bulls rookie point guard has had to deal with as a result of the Bulls lack of any quality teammates for Rose outside of Ben Gordon.
Ryan Parker is a singer and songwriter from Flatwoods, Kentucky, the hometown of Billy Ray Cyrus. During the day, Parker is a software engineer, but by night, he writes and sings songs about sports.
It all began for Parker three years ago, when he wrote a song about the Cinncinnati Bengals. His first hit was a song titled Shady Brady and Bill Belicheat. This song gave his website some recognition and he has carried on from there, writing weekly songs about sports.
Parker’s songs have appeared on ESPN Monday Night Football broadcasts, The Dan Patrick Show, The Dan LeBatard Show, and Ben Maller’s Fox Sports Radio Show.
While some may like to call him a singer songwriter, Parker considers himself “the world’s only singing sports columnist”, as he voices his opinions about sports in his songs.
He currently releases his songs on Heavy.com and plans to produce entertaining songs into the future.
Parker’s songs cover a wide array of topics from Isiah Thomas to the Chicago Cubs.
