Derrick Rose Rookie of the Year Extravaganza
May 23rd, 2009 by Andrew WamboldtDerrick Rose was named the NBA’s Rookie of the Year a few weeks ago, and this past Saturday, he was given a chance to celebrate it, at a party thrown by Adidas. At the party, Derrick Rose said that he had a good year.

Rose was also a unanimous selection to the NBA’s All Rookie First Team.
After celebrating his Rookie of the Year award, Rose got another award, as he was named the Sporting News’ 2008-2009 Rookie of the Year. The voting for the award was done by 231 players.
Rose dominated the voting, receiving 166 votes. O.J. Mayo finished in second, with just 24 votes.
Rose also received some praise from fellow Rookie of the Year recipients, Brandon Roy and Amare Stoudemire. Amare Stoudemire spent time breaking down the things him and Rose had in common, will they be adding both being Chicago Bulls in common?
