Mario Austin To Play for Bulls In Vegas Summer League
June 4th, 2009 by Andrew WamboldtAccording to Twincities.com, Mario Austin, John Paxson’s first second round pick as the Bulls’ general manager, will play for the Bulls in the 2009 Vegas Summer League.
Former McDonald’s prep all-American and Mississippi State star Mario Austin has been playing basketball at Life Time Fitness in Woodbury while visiting his girlfriend in Minnesota.
The 6-9, 260-pounder, who was the 36th overall pick by the Chicago Bulls in the 2003 NBA draft, plans to play in the Bulls’ summer league and also might play in the Howard Pulley pro-am league that begins next month at the Salvation Army gym in St. Paul.
This is excellent news for Bulls fans. Mario Austin has been one of the best post players in Europe. The Bulls are in dire need of a big man, so hopefully Austin can provide them with a boost.
