The 2009 NBA Draft has come and gone. We did three mock drafts on our site, the final version which can be found here. How did our mock draft stack up against the big three’s mock drafts?  (The big three being Draft Express, Nbadraft.net, and Chad Ford’s mock draft for ESPN.com).

Conclusion

Chad Ford’s mock draft was clearly the best, and by quite a large margin. Draft Express also had a good mock draft, and our own was average. Nbadraft.net had a bad mock draft.

• Deviation is found by taking the pick on the mock draft, and then finding the difference between the pick on the mock draft from where that player was actually taken.
• Overall Rankings are computed by each of the four individual categories.  A score is calculated relative to the average of how the four mock drafts did in each category. All categories are weighted equally in determining the overall score.
• The best mock draft automatically has a score of 100% in the overall rankings.  All other scores are relative to the best score.
