Bulls Waive Anthony Roberson
July 20th, 2009 by Andrew WamboldtAccording to Bulls.com, the Bulls have waived Anthony Roberson today.
July 20, 2009 - The Chicago Bulls announced today that the team has waived guard Anthony Roberson.
Roberson (6-2, 195), joined the Bulls on Feb. 19, 2009 in a four-player trade with the New York Knicks. In six regular season games with Chicago last season, he averaged 2.0 ppg in 3.8 mpg.
At the end of the day, it’s not a big loss, as Roberson wouldn’t be much more than an end of the bench guy on this team, being behind Rose, Hinrich, Salmons, Hunter, and Pargo on the depth chart.
I think the Bulls probably chose Demarcus Nelson over Anthony Roberson. Nelson is probably a better practice body, as he can play tougher defense than Roberson. However, I think Roberson has a much better chance of developing into a solid NBA bench player, out of the two.
