Bulls Waive Chris Richards
October 23rd, 2009 by Andrew WamboldtAccording to Bulls.com, the Bulls have waived forward Chris Richard.
The Chicago Bulls announced today that the team has waived forward Chris Richard.
Richard (6-9, 256), appeared in six games this preseason with Chicago and averaged 3.5 ppg and 5.3 rpg in 19.7 mpg.
Chicago’s roster now stands at 14.
Richard never really looked like he belonged in the NBA in the preseason games. Outside of his 17 point 13 rebound game against Minnesota, Richard was terrible.
The Bulls still can cut one more player, and it would be Derrick Byars if the cut were to happen. I don’t think the Bulls will cut Byars though. If Luol Deng or John Salmons goes down, Kirk Hinrich will be moved into the shooting guard slot, and the Bulls would be left with Lindsey Hunter and Jannero Pargo as their backup guards, and that would be really, really bad.
