Hinrich Expected To Miss 1-2 Weeks

November 30th, 2009 by Andrew Wamboldt

According to Bulls.com, Kirk Hinrich is expected to miss 1-2 weeks with a left thumb sprain.

Chicago Bulls guard Kirk Hinrich was examined this morning by Bulls head team physician Dr. Brian Cole and hand specialists Dr. John Fernandez and Dr. Marc Cohen of Midwest Orthopedics at Rush University. Their examination confirmed the earlier diagnosis of a left thumb sprain. He is expected to miss 1-2 weeks.

This injury is probably not bad enough to force the Bulls to go out and sign someone else, so I would expect the Bulls just to stand pat for the duration of Hinrich’s injury.

Over the next two weeks, the Bulls play the Bucks, Pistons, Cavs, Raptors, Nets, Hawks, Warriors, and Celtics. The Bulls should probably beat the Pistons (who may still be without Gordon, Hamilton, and Prince), Nets, and Warriors, but without Hinrich, the Bulls might drop a few of these games that should be easy wins, while at the same time, struggling against their other opponents.
