Rose was also a unanimous selection to the NBA’s All Rookie First Team.

After celebrating his Rookie of the Year award, Rose got another award, as he was named the Sporting News’ 2008-2009 Rookie of the Year. The voting for the award was done by 231 players.

Rose dominated the voting, receiving 166 votes. O.J. Mayo finished in second, with just 24 votes.

Rose also received some praise from fellow Rookie of the Year recipients, Brandon Roy and Amare Stoudemire.  Amare Stoudemire spent time breaking down the things him and Rose had in common, will they be adding both being Chicago Bulls in common?

Derrick Rose Signs With Adidas

Friday, July 25th, 2008

Derrick Rose has agreed in principle to a endorsement deal with the shoe maker Adidas.

“The details are being worked out, and I’m very satisfied with the work my agent has done, and I look forward to representing adidas,” Rose said.

After doing a photoshoot for Adidas after the ESPYS, Rose had this to say, “I was surprised at all the work that goes into making a commercial, the amount of time and effort it takes to get that one perfect shot.”

Rose’s teammates Ben Gordon and Luol Deng are both sponsored by Nike, while Kirk Hinrich is sponsored by Converse.
