Bulls Waive Hill and Stinson

Friday, October 2nd, 2009

According to Bulls.com, the Bulls have waived Steven Hill and Curtis Stinson.

October 1, 2009 — The Chicago Bulls announced today the team has waived center Steven Hill. Hill (7-0, 245) signed with Chicago on September 26.

Chicago’s preseason roster now stands at 16.

October 2, 2009 — The Chicago Bulls announced today the team has waived guard Curtis Stinson. Stinson (6-3, 215) signed with Chicago on September 26.

Chicago’s preseason roster now stands at 15.

Chris Richard and Derrick Byars are the two remaining non-guaranteed contract players remaining in the camp. Which begs the question, where is Mario Austin? Apparently he chose to play in Spain over chancing it with the Bulls.

I think that both of the non-guaranteed gus left in camp will be cut prior to the team’s trip to London.

Bulls Re-Sign Aaron Gray

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

According to Bulls.com, the Chicago Bulls have re-signed center Aaron Gray.

September 22, 2009 - The Chicago Bulls today re-signed center Aaron Gray. Per team policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Chicago drafted the 7-0, 270-pound center with the 49th selection in NBA Draft 2007. During his two seasons with the Bulls, he has appeared in 117 games (19 starts), and averaged 3.9 ppg and 3.3 rpg in 11.4 mpg.

It’s a good thing that the Bulls re-signed Gray, otherwise they wouldn’t have anyone to knock out Royal Ivey or light up the Raptors.

I like that the Bulls brought Gray back. It’s nice to have one of the biggest players in the league as your team, even if he is a limited player.

With Gray back, Mario Austin’s chances of making the final roster now appear to be slim.

Mario Austin To Play for Bulls In Vegas Summer League

Thursday, June 4th, 2009

According to Twincities.com, Mario Austin, John Paxson’s first second round pick as the Bulls’ general manager, will play for the Bulls in the 2009 Vegas Summer League.

Former McDonald’s prep all-American and Mississippi State star Mario Austin has been playing basketball at Life Time Fitness in Woodbury while visiting his girlfriend in Minnesota.

The 6-9, 260-pounder, who was the 36th overall pick by the Chicago Bulls in the 2003 NBA draft, plans to play in the Bulls’ summer league and also might play in the Howard Pulley pro-am league that begins next month at the Salvation Army gym in St. Paul.

This is excellent news for Bulls fans. Mario Austin has been one of the best post players in Europe. The Bulls are in dire need of a big man, so hopefully Austin can provide them with a boost.
